Non-supported JDBC database platform

Hi everybody,

I am evaluating Clearspace and trying to see if I can install it on my company's database platform, Cache. We support JDBC connections and have a JDBC driver. I have configured the JDBC settings correctly for our platform in the Database Migration area. However, I get the message ' No dialect type could be found for the connection’ when I try to test the connection.

I have been told by Jive that the product does make platform-specific database calls, which is leading me to believe that I won't ever get this to work. Has anyone gotten Clearspace to work on a database platform other than the ones listed in the database presets (i.e. through the custom option)? If it is true that Clearspace make platform-specific calls, does that mean that it won't work on all JDBC-complient databases?

I understand that I can't expect any support for installing on a non-supported platform, but I just wanted to know if anyone else had gotten it working on a non-supported platform.

Thanks!

Taylor Flagg

InterSystems
