I have recently wanted to set up 3 sites.

A blog site for car club members to add projects, and use as a my space type car blog site.

A wiki site, so that myself and car enthusiasts can add content and create an on line knowledge base for all to share.

And finally a form, but the forum I'd like to create is one where I can get the fragmented other forums to come under one roof, but let them manage themselves as they are now

A friend of mine recommended Clearstep, but you offer several software that sound like they may do want I want, but should I do it as 3 sites or does your suite of software manage this from 1 site

so could a forum intergarte and offer blog pages and wiki section

Do you think I should keep them all separate?

And what software do you recommend?

Community (Space) vs Groups in Clearspace

Can someone explain the technical and functional differences between spaces (used for Communities here) and Groups in Clearspace? Why would I use one over the other?

Groups vs. Spaces

I am having trouble explaining to others the difference between Groups and Spaces in our community. Maybe this is because I am not quite sure about the difference myself. I can see the concept, and know that there are some things you can do in one and not the other (ie projects), but am wondering how you explain the difference? Is there a guideline of when one would be more appropriate than the other, as well as a list of the differences?

Jive Clearspace 2.5 Wiki Rich Text Editor

Where can I get information about new rich text editor features and functionality? For example, will one be able to inject any html into the page with the wiki syntax gone? In the previous format, not only did the wiki syntax perform poorly, but the editor rejected some very basic html commands. I would also like to find out more about injecting branding into a page? Are columns/tables supported so content can be organized? Etc.

Clearspace backup best practices

I'm curious to know if there are any best practices documents for backing up data in Clearspace? If so, where might a find a copy (or two) of these?

What I would like to see in ClearSpace 3.0 is more teaming with eConferencing support.

Are you planing to provide eConferencing support, perhaps with DimDim or extending your own Openfire based solution?

I have been keenly following Gaston Dombiak's blog about RTC in Clearspace (http://www.jivesoftware.com/community/blogs/clearspace/2008/06/03/scheduling-chats-in-clearspace). I recently attended a Clearspace Community 2.5 demo and did not see this feature. I also have not been able to see/use it on clearstep of jivespace. Is it going to be released as part of 2.5?

I was posting a long reply to GIa on the forums about reputation points yesterday, and because I took so long, it timed me out. and said that I wasn't allowed to do that. Do your servers still cache unathorized posts? I don't think I could duplicate everything again! I hit my back button and it wasn't there anymore.

Is there a way that the forums could be adapted so it gives one a chance to log in and then claim the post to send it on its way properly?

Hi all.

I really like the idea of this site, and i am sure i will help to generate a lot of value for both myself and how we go about implementing communities within our organization.

This sites user interface:

some parts don't seem to be working, this may be because i just registered and i do not have permissions, i seem to be between an anonymous user and a registered one. For me this is a key journey for adoption, and one that i am most concerned about when it comes to releasing software such as this to the wild.

maybe as a side effect of the above, the front page frustrated me, because i couldn't find any thing to do, or where to make my voice. (obviously i have found a place now!)

General terms and conditions

I am not sure what the usage limitations of this website are, for example will you quote me in marketing material? In which case as part of a PLC i may have issues with that so need to watch what I say!

Connect Status Update to Twitter

You'll get A TON more value if the Status update can be connected with Twitter, just as Facebook does. This will allow people to use their Twitter clients to update Clearspace status updates, making that experience livelier and richer. My friends on Clearstep, are very active users of Twitter, yet none of them have a status update on this site.
