Hello,

I'm one of the community managers for United Business Media's pre-launch of Clearspace. As an IT channel company with a media arm, we have a lot of very visual people (aka designers) who will be using the tool. They like a lot of what Clearspace offers, but they would LOVE to have a calendar view for their 'My Stuff' tasks, rather just than a list view.Remember, these folks have been spolied by Apple and Adobe's interface designs!

So, instead of just a task list assigned to a person, they would see their tasks as a calendar with each day's tasks showing in calendar cells (not just Task #1 or something like that). Is this something that's in the works as a new feature? Generally, I think presenting information in a more visual way would entice more folks to dive in with greater enthusiasm.

Thoughts? How do you tackle this issue with your more visual users?

Hi Matt,

That's not something that we have in the application right now, but it would certainly make a great plugin. I bet if you post your ideas here, you could probably get someone in the community to work with you on an implementation. The Jotlet calandar plugin would be a good place to start if you are thinking of developing this yourself.

We're working on better Office integration for an upcoming release, so you may have the ability to export your task list to Outlook fairly soon. Stay tuned!

So....Would anyone in the community be interested in helping us implement this?

How to render Macro each time the page is viewed ?

Maven for plugin builds --- Want to hear your opinions on it.

Hi folk, I'm interested in hearing y'all's opinions on maven for plugin builds and such. What do you like and not like about it. Please try to go into more detail than "it sucks" or "it's great". =) Opinions on it seem very polarized as far as I can see.

As for myself, Maven is new to me. To me it doesn't seem any better or worse than any other build system so long as the project is configured right. (but that's the case with anything)

Adding Users After Successful Login

We subclassed JiveAuthenticator to point to our AD instances for Authentication.

The authenticate method not only authenticates but it also creates a User in Clearspace if that user doesn't exist.

Is there a way to approve a user before adding them into the system?

migration from 2.5.1 to 2.5.2

we upgraded from 2.5.1 to 2.5.2 but we never got the migration screen during setup.

Is there not enough of a db change to make this screen come up?

Clearspace 2.5.1 plugin issues

Does anybody have problem with plugins in Clearspace 2.5.1?

All of our plugins that worked in 2.0.5 does not work in 2.5.1.

I noticed that my plugin jar file is no longer in jivehome/plugins directory; it's in cached directory.

What is the recommended way of calling plugin files?

/cache/plugins/my-plugin/resouces/abc.html

Should I deploy my plugins only through admin console?

Can't just drop jar file in the plugin directory?

Please list other plugins changes that are new 2.5.1

Debugging ClearSpace Plugins

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. I was unable to post a thread to the "Developers forum" in www.jivesoftware.com. So i am assuming this is the new location. Excuse me if this is not.

Anyway here is my question. I am using Eclipse to develop plugins in Clearspace. I was unable to debug the plug-ins that i am developing for CS. Has anyone done that? If so how do i do that?

I was under the impression that this feature was pending for 2.5, however it does not seem to be resident. I also recall there was a company with a press release regarding a clearspace integration that allowed for direct capture of webcam input via the clearspace interface. Does that ring a bell for anyone? I can't find it anywhere.

InvokeInterceptor calling too many times

Hi All,

We are writing Interceptor class to get some information when user creates or modify a document. However, the InvokeInterceptor method gets called lots of times with the same type (TYPE_EDIT) when saving the document after changes. Is there a simple way to know the InvokeInterceptor method has been called for one action type so that the code in the method doesn't get executed again and again? Of course we could setup some flags in our code for this but if it would be nice to get this information from existing Jive object. Thanks.

DWR - Widget property

Anyone knows how to access widget property using DWR?

I have a DWR bean inside widget FTL file that needs to know widget properties which are set by the commnuity admin as well as which community its widget is reside in.

I found JiveDWRUtils but it does not provide those information.
