Great article - very thought provoking. I can't wait to see clearspace in action!
Could not agree more with your posting !! Companies have always been trying to "guess" what their customer needs; however, for those willing to take the plunge and listen to their customers, the platform is now available.
Will companies take advantage of this "open innovation" or hide behind their lawyers?
Also the new book by Patricia Seybold explores this topic further. For those interested in closing the loop withn their customers, it seems to be a good read.

Also, I totally missed this (http://steve.yegge.googlepages.com/you-should-write-blogs) blog post by Steve Yegge (formerly of Amazon, now of Google) who said everything I wanted to say, but he used more words. He refutes the following four arguments commonly given against blogging:
I'm too busy.
I'm afraid to put my true thoughts on public record.
Nobody will read my blog.
Blogging is narcissistic.
Oh, and here's another opinion about opinions:
"In the end, your opinions are what give your writing its spice. People will respect you for offering your well-considered opinions, even if they disagree with you."
An absolute must read.
