OK - I'm a little late to the party here but I must say all your comments will no doubt go a long way in ending our internal "flame war" as Matt calls it regarding the most appropriate deployment model for our application. To me single-tenancy brings more risk free scalability and allows a single architecture or at least very similar architectures to be used in a prem based and cloud based deployment. Its nice to know I'm not a lone voice in the wilderness on this one.

I too am glad to see this. Can anyone tell me which version of SBS this evaluated? Assuming by the timeline that this was 3.x...

Instead of Cisco taking opensource Liferay, adding a ton of custom code and trying to make it SBS, they should just buy Jive.

Shame. You used to have such a great set of understandable products and an approachable company. After the initial 2007 investment, it turned into single expensive, amorphous difficult to understand one-size-fits-all product. The prices are no longer available clearly available and non-discriminatory, you moved to a subscription model, everything here is now marketing-speak, and solutions we relied on for our business just aren't available.

And now, after layoffs in 2008, you're in the position of having to raise more capital.

I used to champion your solutions quite a bit -- I thought highly of the company's products and candor. It's a shame to see what taking on VC did to a profitable, previously well-managed company.
