Abhi,
Replies to discussions via email works out of the box with Clearspace, you'll need to setup the incoming/outgoing Email Server. This can be done in the Admin Console > System > Settings > Email Server > SMTP + Email Monitoring.
The ability to create posts/comments to Blogs and Wiki isn't available out of the box. The Advanced Email Plugin is required for this, more information on this can be found here: Advanced Email Plugin[http://www.jivesoftware.com/jivespace/docs/DOC-1985]
Hope this helps,
~Long
It says "Client account settings successfully updated" but the "Test Account Settings" failed with this error:
Client account test failed. Please verify that you have filled out all required fields correctly and try again.
Abhi,
This just means Clearspace could not establish a connection with your mail server. You'll want to confirm that these are valid settings and make sure there isn't a network configuration that could be preventing a connection from being established (e.g. Firewall blocking the specified port).

We have IMAP4 (ssl) running on port 993 on our Exchange server.
The settings on the Clearspace console are correct but when I run the test it is still failing.
See attached.
Abhijeet,
The code for Email monitoring is fairly straight-forward, if a connection can be established it succeeds otherwise an error is thrown. I can check the error logs if you'd like (please attach from the jiveHome/logs directory), but it's most likely a network issue, please check to verify you can establish a connection with the mail server from the Clearspace box.

I do not have access to the production box where Clearspace is installed. I am attaching the log file from the Clearspace Log Viewer. Will that work?
Abhjeet, either there hasn't been any errors as a result of the email monitoring or these logs aren't up to date. Might need to get the actual logs from the server.
Have you verified you can establish a connection with the email server from the Clearspace box?

Zey,
Thanks for attaching the logs. Upon review, the last time stamp was for Dec 26 when the PermsGen errors were occurring (since been resolved), are these the latest logs? Perhaps we can find something in the Tomcat logs, see the Tomcat/logs directory for catalina logs.
Abhijeet, are you able to determine whether this is a networking issue? Are you able to ping the mail server url? Are you able to telnet into the mail server from the Clearspace box and retrieve emails (might need someone familiar with networking)?

Requested log files.
Thanks again Zey, the logs didn't reveal any errors that directly relate to this. Any update on this Abhijeet:

Closing ticket in speaking with Zey earlier in the week. Email server appears to be configured properly now.

Did this work?

Nope. I have sent the screen shot of our settings to Long. Waiting for his reply.
