Borderless widget not available for social groups

Hi Guys

As you may have guessed from my other recent questions, we are using social groups a lot in our ClearspaceCommunity site.

We want to add a link to one of the group home pages and the obvious way to do that is to put it in a borderless html widget which we can position under one of the other widgets to get the required proximity. But the borderless html widget seems to be available only on the communithy home pages, not on social groups.

I understand that some widget types are not applicable in some contexts and I understand that the java code has an annotation that determines which contexts a widget may be used in. But why should there be any such limitation on where I can put a bordeless widget? Its the same as an HTML widget but wihout a border?

This feels like a mistake and as such a bug and I'd like to know if you can fix it or suggest a workround (could build a custom widget but its not clear how to hide the title and border divs).

Thanks

Mark

Re: Borderless widget not available for social groups

Hi Mark,

Where did you get this borderless widget from? This isn't one of our included widgets and I don't believe that we have any supported code or plugins out there that provide this functionality. The four supported plugins that we offer are:

  • Forums Migration
  • SharePoint
  • Advanced Email Plugin
  • Jotlet.net Plugin

And the list of default widgets can be found here:

http://www.jivesoftware.com/jivespace/docs/DOC-4539

If this is a custom widget then any requests like this will need to be taken up with the plugin author directly (usually via the plugin page itself). Thanks.

To better serve our customers we have included functionality to automatically follow up on a case after it has been idle for more than 5 days, and then auto close after an additional 3 days of inactivity. Choose No to acknowledge that this case will remain idle for longer than 5 days.
Making cases public allows other customers to learn from the solution of the case. It can also be used to gain feedback from others in the community. Ask our Support Engineers for more info, but we encourage you to make your cases public.
