Can I make a sandbox space, for training, that will be public, but not show up on the recent content widgets?  SBS 3.0.6

I would like to setup a space or sub-space to use for training (a 'sandbox' area).

I don't want activity in this space to show up on 'recent content' or 'recent activity' widgets, but I want the space to be open so that anyone can access it.

What is the best way to do this?

Hello,

We don't provide the ability to do this out of the box.  The tree structure of the spaces makes it difficult.  If you'd like, I could get you in touch with our professional services dept.  They do most of the customization work for our products.

Thanks,

Kevin

This topic is dear to my heart, as we recently migrated all our Jive SBS training materials over to Jivespace:

http://www.jivesoftware.com/jivespace/community/education

Not sure if this is the exact use case you're describing, but check out how I used private groups for each training course, and linked to those groups from within a formatted text widget on the Education space's home page.  The user training course is an open group, as that's a freebie, but the others are private groups.

The result is that content posted to the private group only shows up in Recent Content for people who are members in that group.

To better serve our customers we have included functionality to automatically follow up on a case after it has been idle for more than 5 days, and then auto close after an additional 3 days of inactivity. Choose No to acknowledge that this case will remain idle for longer than 5 days.
Making cases public allows other customers to learn from the solution of the case. It can also be used to gain feedback from others in the community. Ask our Support Engineers for more info, but we encourage you to make your cases public.
