SLOW Forum

My forums are operating very slowly...

It can take quite awhile for some parts of the pages to come up:

http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/vmb/forum.jsp?forum=61

The server is not the problem... It is running 85% idle CPU with lots of free RAM. JBoss/Jetty has been given 800MB max heap, which it is not even close to reaching.

Any ideas why things are running so slowly?

The DB is postgres 7.2.1, vacuumed nightly. Thanks!

Re: SLOW Forum

My guess would be that one of your cache sizes is too low. Go into the admin tool and check to see if any of the caches look full -- if they do, increase the cache.

If that doesn't fix it, let us know and we can help you debug further.

Regards,

Matt

Re: SLOW Forum

If you'd like, send me login info for the admin tool on your site by email, and I can take a look at your cache sizes to see what might be going on.

Matt

To better serve our customers we have included functionality to automatically follow up on a case after it has been idle for more than 5 days, and then auto close after an additional 3 days of inactivity. Choose No to acknowledge that this case will remain idle for longer than 5 days.
Making cases public allows other customers to learn from the solution of the case. It can also be used to gain feedback from others in the community. Ask our Support Engineers for more info, but we encourage you to make your cases public.
