Nested AD Group Support

In a discussion a while ago, we talked about nested group support specifically in relation to MS Active Directory, but potentially from any LDAP server.  Supporting nested groups would provide improved user management.

This has been logged as a feature request for Clearspace.  The id for the feature request is CS-6655.

 

The request will need to be reviewed by our product management team to determine if it will be included in the product.  I have linked this case as well as the one you referenced in your post to the feature request so that your concerns will be attached to it.

 

At this point, the earliest this feature could be implemented in the product would be the 2.2 release but, again, that is contingent upon the product management team.

Hi,

 

What is the news on this feature? I just checked my groups in 2.5.6 and they aren't expanding.

 

And also, is there any way for me to check on those CS numbers you mention in cases (CS-6655 in this case) or is that only for internal reference?

The feature to this point has not been implemented.  Feature requests need to be evaluated by product management team to determine if/when they will be implemented and to this point, the feature has not be prioritized.

Currently, our tracking system is internal only.  However, we are working on making it externally visible to customers in the future.

Hi, has this been fixed in 3.0.2? I checked the release notes for fixed or known bugs, and didn't see it in either list. Thanks, Wolf

To better serve our customers we have included functionality to automatically follow up on a case after it has been idle for more than 5 days, and then auto close after an additional 3 days of inactivity. Choose No to acknowledge that this case will remain idle for longer than 5 days.
Making cases public allows other customers to learn from the solution of the case. It can also be used to gain feedback from others in the community. Ask our Support Engineers for more info, but we encourage you to make your cases public.
