Greetings:
I have found other users with similiar questions, but I have not been able to find an answer.
When a user creates a document, tags are auto-populated with all recently popular tags. This requires the user to delete all the tags and fill in their own. Is this a bug? Or is this a setting that we are not aware of? Many users do not realize that these tags are being auto-populated and so many documents are left with too many inappropriate tags.
Also, we have many tags that are similiar and recently we have been trying to go back and edit old documents to have the most recent tags. This user also had a similiar problem, but has not yet received a reply. I have also found that the edited documents come back up on the recent feed as having been modified by myself, even though I did not create the document. Has this issue been addressed? Is there a way around it?
And lastly, when I do go back and "Edit Document" to fix the tags, new tags appear as soon as I publish the document. For example, "content" is our most popular tag, mostly because every time a document is edited "content" is added to the tags, sometimes several times. Is this a bug? Or is there any way to stop it?
We are using Clearspace version 2.0.1 and are looking to upgrade within the next few months. However, we are hoping that some of these issues can be resolved before that.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Naticia
Hey,
I just found this answer to part of my question (thanks to correct tagging =) ).
So an upgrade should fix the duplication. However, I would still appreciate any feedback on my other questions.
Thanks!
Naticia
Hi Naticia,
I really appreciate that you are searching the forum looking for answer before posting, it makes it much easier if the problem has been solved before. I will see if I can answer any unanswered questions you still have.
The Recent Content widget will always bring updated content to the top of the list. If you edit a document (even just changing tags), it will show that you edited the document (In the edited by: field) and it will jump to the top of the list. This is the intended functionality so that people can see when documents are being updated with new content. There isn't really any way around this.
I believe your other question is also related to the bug that you found, if tags are automatically being placed into your document then this is a bug.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!
-Todd
