Documentation on task import

Can you please provide documentation and field mapping for the CSV import of tasks?

Thanks

Re: Documentation on task import

Jeff,

Regarding task imports:

  • The project tasks are imported into is specified by whichever Project select Import/Export tasks in (not from a column in the CSV file as initially thought).
  • The actual column names and ordering doesn't matter as long as you have a column for:
    • username, date (MM/DD/YYYY) and subject/description
    • The upgrade process will prompt you to specify which column should be mapped to which field (see image below)

  • The import task feature doesn't import Notes, only the 3 items listed above (standard used by MS-project and outlook of: subject + due date)

The import functionality should be pretty straight-forward, you could even export a set of tasks in Clearspace as an example. Let me know if there are questions.

To better serve our customers we have included functionality to automatically follow up on a case after it has been idle for more than 5 days, and then auto close after an additional 3 days of inactivity. Choose No to acknowledge that this case will remain idle for longer than 5 days.
Making cases public allows other customers to learn from the solution of the case. It can also be used to gain feedback from others in the community. Ask our Support Engineers for more info, but we encourage you to make your cases public.
