Running 2.5.4 with following backported coherence configuration settings to resolve errors in the System Blog Admin Console, and SSO User Issues
<cache-name>Entitlement Cache</cache-name>
<scheme-name>default-backing-map</scheme-name> <!-- PATCH FROM 2.5.6 - SSO Complications -->
<cache-name>Entitlement User Object Cache</cache-name>
<scheme-name>default-near</scheme-name> <!-- PATCH TO GET SYSTEM BLOG ADD USER TO WORK -->This code works fine on a single-node environment; however, when deployed to a clustered environment the admin screen renders blank. Here is a screen shot:
I've turn on query caching, and I am not seeing any query to the DB to get this information. This is the 1st time I've seen this issue in all the releases.
Note: If I pass parameters in to synthesize the UI working, it appears to work.
The coherence configs settings are the only thing I can think of that might be related. As for log files, I am not seeing ANYTHING from the system in the jive Logs, container app logs, or container system out log.
We are also seeing some oddities with our plugin macros on the cluster (working fine in single node cluster)...not sure if it's related, but I thought I'd go ahead and get this element documented.
Any help would be appreciated, it almost looks like a sitemesh omission of the content...
Hey Ryan,
This is odd, I've never seen this before. Making the suggested change to the Entitlement Cache should not have caused this (we've made this change to a few other customers before as well). I am not sure about the change to the Entitlement User Object Cache though, in the fixed 2.5.4 versoin that I see it should be a default-backing-map as well. I'm not really sure how this would affect the system properties page though.
It might be worth it to try reverting back to the default coherence cache config to see if this at least resolves this issue. If it does then you might want to look at patching to 2.5.5 or later if at all possible. Since you mention that this only appears this way in a cluster it would almost seem that it has to be related to the cache-config. I haven't made both of those changes at the same time before though. Thanks.

Todd,
Those were my thoughts as well. I'll continue to try it out...but for now....but the oddest thing about it though is that the calls to the JiveGlobals object in the application appear to work fine....and even worse....no errors...I mean not even one. I'll continue to look at it for now, reverting back the cache change for User Object is going to be rough as we need the ability to add people to blogs more-so than we do to see the System Properties (like I said, if I synthesize the hits...they appear to work fine)...so I may be able to create a local client or standalone app that does my postings for me in the short-term. But this sounds like my problem to deal with....thanks for the sanity check though...just wanted to know if this chase had already happened.
RR
Hey Ryan,
No problem at all. Please let me know if you have any further questions here or if anything comes up feel free to re-open this case. Thanks!
