Video on the

Hi there,

 

One of the key features that interested me about Jive SBS was the video section, See here >>


On the demo this section shows the ability to play videos, comment on them and upload new ones. See here >>

 

I downloaded the SBS trial version and configured it to run on my server. However there is no video section, See here >>

 

I investigated the Vimeo plug in macro but this appears just to allow users to play videos on the blog, wiki etc.

 

Am I missing something but I cannot find any plug in or option to enable uploading of videos to a service such as Vimeo through the site.

 

Would I be correct to say that veodia.com is the sole option to enable this type of functionality. I must say I feel slightly misled based on what is displayed on the SBS online demo.

Not sure how suitable Video is going to be. It's difficult to get a look at their product at the moment.

 

Also no information from Jive crew about whether the video capture part of their demo is available as a template or whether it needs to be a customization of the Jive SBS installation by customers themselves.

I'm slightly confused by this too.

 

But from the 3.0.1 release documentation looks like it is an add-on.

Are there any additional widgets / plugins you can use to allow users to upload and display video directly to the Jive community?

Thanks a million for that link. I see what you mean about the plug in. Making some enquiries about trying it out with the trial version. Will update with response from Jive account manager
