MySQL or PostgreSQL?

Currently we are on Clearspace 2.5.9 and MySQL. When we upgrade to SBS do you recommend that we switch to PostgreSQL?

I know we don't have to switch since MySQL is supported, but which way will be less trouble in the long run with future upgrades

and support in general from Jivesoftware? Thanks.

Re: MySQL or PostgreSQL?

Hi Ben,

Both MySQL and PostgreSQL are equally supported. Since you're on MySQL already, it would be much easier to upgrade to Jive SBS with MySQL. Switching to PostgreSQL would require you to go through a database migration first, requiring additional configuration steps.

In short, unless you need to move to PostgreSQL for another reason, you'll be just fine on MySQL.
