I've just become the community manager here at our company. Our community is not yet live and will be implemented in phases. The Alpha is due at the end of October and will bascially be a pilot with selected members of our target audience and internal SMEs, etc. After reading several of the threads on this site (great by the way), I've read a few posts about the community manager being the "party host" and setting the tone, etc. of the community. I'm interested in how you accomplisheded that, especially if you are not also an SME.
There's some really good whitepapers here that reference some of this: http://www.jivesoftware.com/products/clearspace/resources
