Lufthansa Selects Jive Software to Power Its Networking and Collaboration Initiative

PORTLAND, OR, August 19 - Jive Software, the Social Business Software leader, today announced Deutsche Lufthansa AG is powering its company-wide networking initiative with the Jive Social Business Software platform. Lufthansa is one of the world's largest airlines serving about 200 destinations in nearly 80 countries. The employee community, named eTeaming, helps improve productivity and spawn innovation by improving communication within Lufthansa's project groups, teams and communities.

Lufthansa conducted significant due diligence prior to selecting Jive for its new initiative. Lufthansa researched a variety of software vendors matching its business requirements with product functionality and fit within Lufthansa's IT architecture. Additionally, the company ran pilot programs over a four month time period. When the pilot was complete, the pilot participants resoundingly chose Jive for its usability and complete set of functionality. After months of research, Lufthansa selected Jive for its user experience and open platform that easily integrated with Lufthansa's existing IT infrastructure and applications.

The new eTeaming community helps address many of the current challenges Lufthansa employees face in an increasingly communications-dependent business environment. With eTeaming, business users can quickly start open or private discussions, create closed workgroups and stay connected with other employees' activities regardless of the hierarchal or geographical location within the organization. The result is an open environment where business users openly share ideas and innovation is encouraged."
