Technical Requirements
We know your server-side deployments vary: some are simple open-source deployments, others are complex commercial platforms. Clearspace Community is engineered to work on both.
Clearspace Community is a pure-Java server-side web application. Below is a list of the supported environments it's designed for.
Recommended Platform
If you're starting from scratch we recommend this configuration:
- Operating System: Linux (2.6 Kernel)
- JDK: Sun Java 6 (JDK 1.6)
- Appserver: Apache Tomcat 6.0.10 (or later 6.0.x release)
- Database: Postgres 8.x
Certified Platforms
These platforms have the highest level of support by Jive Software and we've found them to be the most reliable and stable.

Daily Backups: You should backup your database on a regular basis as well as the configuration files for Clearspace Community (the jiveHome directory).
