Yesterday evening, Jive CEO Elisa Steele was recognized as one of the top 100 Women of Influence of 2016 by Silicon Valley Business Journal. The publication, which identifies 100 women who have made the biggest impact across all professions and sectors in Silicon Valley, held an evening gala where Elisa and fellow award winners were honored by the community.

As part of the festivities, Jive also dedicated a table to the staff and students of Notre Dame High School.

Elisa believes that while there has been progress with women taking on more leadership roles, there is still significant more work to be done.

We need to work diligently at providing opportunities for young girls to learn and know that they have huge potential in this world. They have to feel empowered and motivated to achieve their dreams—whatever they may be. Nothing is off limits to them, whether it’s a field stereotyped to males or females. We have to provide examples, stories and paths for women and girls. And, we MUST fix very real gender-pay inequalities that still exist in our modern world. This is why I support HeForShe, a global organization on a mission to eliminate the pay gap.

The HeForShe Movement is Growing in the Bay Area

“HeForShe 2016: Driving Change in Silicon Valley” panelists

Jive recently held a panel event with the Head of UN Women’s HeForShe movement, Elizabeth Nyamayaro, where Elisa and fellow panelists spoke candidly and pragmatically about achieving gender parity.

200 people gathered at the “HeForShe 2016: Driving Change in Silicon Valley” (#HeForShe16SV) event to support and help drive the movement in the Bay Area.
